ALL STUDENTS:

 

~If you have a close family member that has or is serving in the military, please head to the D’Evelyn website and click on activities to fill out the google survey by Saturday to honor your veteran. ~The D’Evelyn Spanish Honor Society presents a Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive, running from Monday, November 12 through Friday, November 16. Donate nonperishable items, such as oatmeal, peanut butter, and canned fruits, to your third period class! The class with the most cans wins a party. Let’s give back to the Jeffco community and help those in need this season!

 

 

~ Are you stressed? This Friday, during 7th hour, we will have three different activities to help you de-stress. There will be Office episodes in the Library commons, a nap room in E-100 and a Just Dance in the Counseling office. Come have fun!

 

 

~Speaker Sam Peketz will be here for 7th hour Friday for F.C.A. He is a very talented youth speaker and you will not want to miss him. Join us for snacks and fun as we hear him speak in the library.

 

 

~An International College Fair is offered at Dakota Ridge High School on Thursday, Nov 15th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  Over 11 countries will be represented.  Best to pre-register.  Stop by Counseling for additional information.

 

 

~Last reminder to bring in your outerwear that you will no longer use and donate it to Latin Club's Coats for Colorado drive. Collection points are at each school entrance until tomorrow. Your donated items will be distributed to needy Colorado residents to help them keep warm and healthy. Thank you for your generosity.

 

 

SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS:

 

~High school students, it's not too late! Pick up an audition packet for the musical, Curtains, in the choir room. Auditions will take place next Monday and Tuesday after school in the auditorium.

 

 

~Sources of Strength is sponsoring a blood drive next on Wednesday, the 14th of November.  Please sign up in Ms. Sotolongo’s office this week for a time when you can donate.  Every blood donation saves up to three lives!  Thank you!

 

 

~There will be a girls’ soccer meeting today at 2:30 in the cafeteria for all athletes interested in playing.

 

 

~Any students applying to CSU should consider applying to the CSU President's Leadership Program (PLP) - a leadership experience that provides year-long courses.  Students will participate in retreats and service projects. In addition, you will have the opportunity to earn an interdisciplinary minor in Leadership Studies. If interested, stop by Counseling.

 

 

JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS:

 

~Today, 8th graders whose last names are G to Ma will be required in Counseling to meet with        

Mr. Northway.  Please plan accordingly.

~ Continuing Parent Announcements ~

 

~ Seventh Graders will be reading The Diary of Anne Frank in class in February. The Arvada Center will be presenting the play February 1 - May 17, 2019. Tickets: Starting at $45 (Previews $25) 
This may be a wonderful time for your family to view this impressive work.

 

 

~Attention Marching Band Students – A large pile of lost and found items was brought to the clinic. Please come down to check for your missing items. The items will be donated out Friday, November 16th.

 

 

~Cheers to 25 Years - The auction is open!  Everyone who has set up their account in Handbid by Wednesday evening, November 7th will be automatically entered in a drawing for bag of Trader Joe's Fall Favorites. (View this on the DRAWINGS page) We will select the winner at the auction, but you do not need to be present - or even purchase a ticket to the auction - to win this one!

~Are you interested in making an impact on the school? Do you love books and textbooks? Please attend the next accountability meeting where we will have a brief but mandatory training on textbook reviews. Anyone interested in serving on a textbook review committee in the future needs to attend this training. This training will take place along with our next Accountability meeting. We hope to see you November 13 at 5:30 PM in the library.

~For the 19-20 School year:  If you have a sibling of a current student to enroll via the sibling lottery, you will do this using your Jeffco Connect log in information.  It will be an Enroll Jeffco link that uses your username and password that you already have for Jeffco Connect.  If your new student is currently at a NON-Jeffco school, you can log in and add the new student to your current Jeffco Connect account.  The Enroll Jeffco system is scheduled to roll out in January 2019 and we will keep you posted as we learn more.  Please call Susan Brown at 303-982-7925 if you have questions or need assistance with your log in information.

The Jeffco Public Schools process for choice enrollment application and selection is going to change for this year’s enrollment cycle.  The new system will roll out in January 2019.  Once we know additional information on the new Enroll Jeffco platform that will be available throughout the district, we will communicate that information. Please call Susan Brown at 303-982-7925 if you have questions or need assistance with your Jeffco Connect log in information.

The school store is open and ready for business! Get your spirit gear today.  Hot items - stadium seats, sweatshirts and the new school spirit scarves!!  Hours: Tues/Thurs 10:20 am - 11:50am and the second Wednesday of the month at 2pm - 2:40 pm.

 

 

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION:

  

~Hey Jags, keep collecting those Box Tops.  When you bring them in please make sure they are not expired.  The collection box is located just inside the doors of the front office. Thanks for your continued support!
