We need Halloween candy donations so that we have enough candy for all the Trick Or Treaters who will be parading through our haunted halls. DAZZLING JAGS!

 

~This Saturday at the High School Mountain Bike State Championships in Durango, Mia Aseltine lined up against 85 of the best mountain bikers in the state and ended up on the top spot to become the 2018 JV Girls State Mountain Bike Champion. Congratulations!

 

 

~Congratulations to the Varsity Football team for their 16-8 win on Friday over the Bennett Tigers! JV heads out to Bennett this afternoon, so wish them luck! Friday’s win gives the Jags a 7-1 record going into the League Title Game on Friday against Faith Christian. The game will be at Trailblazer Stadium and will feature Senior tributes before the game, starting at 7 pm.  Hope to see you there!

 

 

~Congratulations to our D'Evelyn gymnasts, Paige Drewek and Teagan McDonald, for being selected to All-Conference 2nd Team for All-Around in Jeffco and Kendyll Gromko to All Conference Honorable Mention.  Regionals are this Saturday..

 

 

~Boys soccer finished their season in style with a 3-0 win over Class 5A Prairie View High School. Nate Hastert, the team’s senior goalie, took to the field and scored a goal along with Alan Li and Ethan Vijayabaskaran.  Assists were provided by Colin Short and Alan Li.  The Jags junior varsity goalie, Callum McCabe, stepped up to the varsity and had five saves.

~Congratulations to our D'Evelyn gymnasts for their performance at the CHSAA Gymnastics League Championships this past Saturday 10/20.  Teagan McDonald & Kendyll Gromko compete for Bear Creek High School which received a Conference Sportsmanship Award.  Paige Drewek competes for Lakewood High School which placed 4th in Jeffco League.  Congratulations to Paige Drewek and Teagan McDonald for being selected to the All-Conference 2nd Team for All-Around in Jeffco, and Kendyll Gromko to All Conference Honorable Mention.  Both teams will compete at Regionals this Saturday.

~Our girls XC team WON Regionals! All 9 of our competitors finished in the top 20!!! This qualifies the girls team for State! Our boys team came in 5th, narrowly missing State, but Caleb got 14th and made it to State individually. Congrats to our incredible athletes and coaches, and thanks to all who came to support!

~Go Pokes!  The University of Wyoming from Laramie will be in Counseling during 7th hour.  The Wyoming football stadium is the highest in elevation for DI sports and the jump-shot in basketball was invented here.  Mr. Porreco and Mrs. Herron are alumni.  Stop by counseling for a pass.  Tomorrow the University of Chicago.

ALL STUDENTS: 

 

~Today, The University of Rochester, known for the Eastman School of Music, the Simon Business School and their School of Medicine and Dentistry, will be in Counseling during 7th hour.  Get a pass from Counseling. Tomorrow, the University of Wyoming is here.

 

 

~Help support teachers by donating money for school supplies.  Money raised will go to the Jeffco Action Center to purchase supplies for students across the district who are in need of assistance. In your 3rd period class, there will be jars, put your money there. This will run through this week. The class with the most money will win a prize!

 

 

~Join us today at Chipotle at 355 S Wadsworth from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Tell the cashier you’re with D’Evelyn and 33% of the proceeds will be donated to the boys soccer team. Then, come cheer on the Varsity team at their last league game at Lakewood Memorial Field against Standley Lake at 7pm!

 

 

~Also, today is a fundraiser for Volleyball at the Garlic Knot on 3200 S Wadsworth. Mention D’Evelyn volleyball and a donation will be made, it includes dine in, take out or delivery. 

 

 

~Stay warm this winter watching your jag sports team play, and purchase a blanket from your DHS Cheer team for just $10 bucks!! They’re large enough to fit a queen size bed and are super fuzzy!!  Ask any of your cheerleaders for one and look for us at games! 

 

~Did you love The Book Thief?  Did you know Markus Zusak’s latest book Bridge of Clay is now available?  Coming all the way from Australia, Zusak will be at Cherry Creek High School THIS FRIDAY, October 19 at 7pm. This is a ticketed event.  Don't miss out on this rare opportunity! 

 

 

SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS:

 

~11th graders with last names for Cr-Germain will report to counseling today for 7th hour.  Last names Ny-Sh will report to E100 to meet with your counselor for a College Admission Case Study.

 


~Seniors, your signed graduation contracts are due to the basket in counseling no later than Friday, October 19th.

 

 

~Winter athletes!  Registration is now open. Make sure you have a valid physical, go online and register a.s.a.p!

 

 

JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS:

 

~Attention all Jr. High Math Fans! The AMC 8 Math Competition is coming up soon! November 14th is the date. It's open to all 7th and 8th graders but space is limited. See Mrs. Pruit or Ms. Cannon to sign up. There is no charge! Come to Jr. High Math Club starting this Friday to start preparing for the competition - and have some fun doing it!!!

 

 

DAZZLING JAGS!

 

~Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country team for winning the League Championship for the first time in 18 years!  Taylor Haerbig and Eliana Thompson were 1st team all-conference and Kati Livingood and Sonja Morin were 2nd team all-conference!  Come support them for our Regional Championships on our own D’Evelyn Dash course this Thursday!

 

 

~Congrats to the Marching Band for their best performance to date last night at Metro Regionals Competition.  The band won the 3A competition!!!  Great job!

 

 

PARENTS:

 

~Junior High Boosters Committee will be having a brainstorming session to create the best program for the remainder of the 2018/2019 and future JHB programs.  Would love to have lots of attendance to discuss JHB events and get creative to benefit our Junior High Students.  We will meet on Thursday, October 18th at 7:35am AND 2:35pm in the office conference room.  We are scheduling this for two separate times in an effort to be available for parents with different schedules. 

 

 

~Join us at Chipotle restaurant for a fundraiser to support the Boys Soccer Team.  Just come in to the Chipotle at 355 S Wadsworth Blvd in Belmar/Lakewood on tonight from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 33% of the proceeds will be donated to the soccer team.
