ALL STUDENTS:

~Today for 7th hour, students will report to their 5th hour class.


~Strategic Gaming Club starts this Friday during 7th Hour in Mr. Beams' room.  We play a variety of strategic games, some longer and some shorter.  Newcomers are welcome!  Come to the Strategic Gaming Club and have a good time hanging out with your friends!  

 

~Latin Club is looking for new heroes to join its ranks. Our 1st event is this Friday in 7th hour. All want-to-be heroes are welcome as we head out for a field day. Come test your skills in javelin, discus and shot as we compete in events inspired by ancient myths. Sign up with Mr. Habel on Friday!

 

~Don’t forget the Directory Cover Art Contest - Pick up a submission form from Ms. Haller or Ms. Lawrence. Your form and artwork are due by Sept. 4th at 7:30 am to the office. The winner will receive $50 in addition to having their artwork on the cover of this year’s directory.

 

~The pit stop is now open 2:30 pm to 3 pm…..everything is one dollar.

~Have you noticed the posters in the halls for the In-State College Fair and College Night on Wed, Sept 5th?   You have the unique opportunity to meet 13 colleges without leaving the building.  Later, at 6 pm, Kevin MacLennan from CU Boulder will speak on The State of College Admissions and you choose 2 sessions that interest you.  All students and parents are encouraged to attend.

 

~For those interested in Robotics Club, there will be an informational meeting in the computer lab ME-202 tomorrow during 7th hour.

 

~Do you need a little relaxation and exercise at the end of the week? Come unwind at Mrs. Sweney's and Miss Ford's yoga club! Beginners welcome, and the club is open to all grades. Please bring a yoga mat or a beach towel. You can sign up with either teacher, we will meet in Miss Ford's room every Friday during 7th hour.  We promise that you will leave for the weekend feeling calm and stress-free! 

 

~Interested in attending DHS Cheer’s open clinic tryout next week on Sept 4th? Then come and visit the Cheer team desk at both lunches this whole week for information and candy! You gotta love Disney World! 

 

SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS:

 

~Seniors!  Don't forget-- your senior yearbook forms are due to Mr. Jacobson's room, in the library, by September 7th! Please remember to also turn in your senior photos to the link on the school website by Sept 7th. If you don't turn these in, you won't be in this year's yearbook!


~Get your parking passes ASAP! Ticketing will begin next Tuesday if you don’t have your pass.

 

~Seniors, stop by counseling to sign off on the spelling of your name for your diploma!


~Training for Boys Mentors will be Friday during 7th hour in E100.  This session is for Juniors and Seniors who enrolled as mentors for the first time this year.  Also, we are still taking new mentors and mentees, so turn your forms in to Counseling.  See Mr. Northway if you have questions.

 

~If you are in grades 9-12 and you want to learn the basics of improvisational comedy, come to the auditorium this Friday during 7th Hour!  Sign up will be with Mr. Murphy, and outside the auditorium doors.

 

JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS:

 

~Attention Junior High students! Tennis is a fun sport you can play your whole life, so come give it a shot.  Practices start September 10th with matches on Saturday.  All ability levels are welcome.  Look for a flyer in the office.

 

DAZZLING JAGS!

 

~Congrats to the girls softball team with a big win at Elizabeth 18-11.  Both Isabella Porreco and Peyton Balbin had two home runs each and Rylee Waggoneer threw three relief shut out innings.  Good luck today at Woodland Park!

The D’Evelyn Dash Crew would like to thank all who registered for the 5K or 2K, bought a T-shirt, donated items, volunteered, sponsored, hosted a booth, bought a door prize ticket, or gave your time or talent in any way. You made the DASH a great day! Proceeds are managed by the D’Evelyn Education Foundation and are distributed throughout the year to benefit arts, academics, activities and athletics.

The Dash Crew would like to especially thank the following groups:

  • Jags Baseball - Thank you for being there at 5:30 am to help with set-up!
  • Girls Basketball - Thank you for staying late and helping with clean-up!

  • DHS Improv - Great job on the Back-to-School Night skit!

~Boys Golf is in 3rd place in Jeffco league Standings. The team is led by Seniors Sam Spiers, Philip Ahn and Taylor Gustafson and includes Medhaj Shrestha and Tyler Carver. Sam, Philip and Medhaj are in contention for all-conference honors with a scoring average of 79, 82, and 85 respectively.Sam recently posted a league match best score of 80 ,Congrats to him and all of the Team.

JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS:

~The Middle School Tennis League is starting September 10th.  Practices will be on Mondays and Wednesdays 5:00-6:30 at the D’Evelyn courts with matches on Saturdays. We have all ability levels including beginners.   Look for a flyer in the office.

 

DAZZLING JAGS!

~Please come out to support  the volleyball team who plays their first home game against Holy Family tonight with the Varsity starting at 7pm. Hope to see you all there!

 

~Congrats to Mia Aseltine who finished 1st overall in the Mountain Bike Team junior varsity race this weekend in Frisco.

 

~Congratulations to the DHS XC team for their finishes at the Dash!  The boys, led by Caleb Feagans were 3rd, and the girls won with 1st-3rd place finishes going to our own harriers: Taylor Haerbig (1st), Eliana Thompson (2nd), Sonja Morin(3rd).  Great job Jaguars!

ALL STUDENTS:

~Here are your lunch-time reminders: Enjoy your full lunch period. Don’t line up 10 minutes before the bell dismisses you for passing period. Please make sure to pick up after yourself and help your friends when they forget to clean up. Students are to stay in the designated eating areas, and not wander the halls during lunch.

 

~Today for 7th hour, students will report to their 5th hour class.

 

 

~8th graders will be taking their needs assessment survey today in the cafeteria during 7th hour.  8th graders report to your 5th period class and we will call for students with last names beginning with A-K about 1:55, and L-Z about 2:15.

~Prayer and lunch for students, or PALS, is a student prayer group that meets in the conference room of the counseling office during lunch on Wednesdays. We’d love to meet new people, so if interested, please come check us out!

 

 

~Have you bugged your parents enough to get them to sign you up for the D’Evelyn DASH this Sat?  If not, you need to! Time is running out!

~The Air Force Academy welcomes those who are interested in learning about academy life; the application process, meeting with cadets, recent graduates and Colorado congressional staff. The information includes Air Force, Army, Naval and Coast Guard Academies on Sat, Aug 25 starting at 9:30 am.  If interested stop by Counseling.

 

 

~ Attention all Jags:  tomorrow we will have a DASH “blast from the past,” so if you wear any old DASH shirt you will get CANDY as you enter the cafeteria at lunchtime.

~ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GO! Join us on August 25th for our 18th Annual D’Evelyn DASH!!!  The DASH is our big community event that helps kick off the school year and is a key fundraiser that provides support for scholarships, sports, academics, and activities throughout the year.  Be sure to register for the 2k or 5k race and plan on staying afterwards to enjoy the student/community booths with fun activities, food trucks, music and live entertainment, door prize drawing and more!

 

~BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION:  

Welcome back Jags! We are continuing to collect box tops, so put together all those tops you've collected over the summer and bring them in! Help us reach our $1000 goal. Check out Kleenex, Fruit Roll Up and Annie's brands!  There is a collection box located in the front foyer of school and one just inside entrance doors of the front office. Thank you for your continued support of this fundraising opportunity!
