ALL STUDENTS:

~On Tuesday, 8th graders whose last names are Mc to Sa will be required in Counseling to meet with Mr. Northway in the auditorium. Mark it in your planner!

~Due to the Veteran’s Day Program, todays college visit from Colorado Mesa University has been re-scheduled to Wednesday, Nov 28th.   Mark the new date in your planner.

~Winter Track starts today!  Meet outside the weight room at 3:10 p.m.

~The November scholars of the month are as follows:

Eli Maten has been an enthusiastic and involved 7th grade Geography student.  He works hard, comes in for extra help, and tries his very best to improve.  This desire to grow combined with the extra time it takes to follow through on this are what makes him a strong student.  His diligence and his motivation are exemplary and his positive and consistent participation in class are truly a blessing

Anna Smith is an amazing student, person and someone we are proud to have as part of our D’Evelyn community.  Every day she comes to class prepared with a positive and caring attitude that is infectious to others. She does a phenomenal job of balancing work and school activities.  She was a dedicated member of the state champion marching band while also maintaining exemplary grades in all of her classes.

Sydney Volheim’s passion for academics and athletics is obvious to all who know her.  Sydney's high grades are not simply the result of "natural ability"--but of a superlative work ethic that combines with an intellectual curiosity. Sydney asks thought provoking questions that stimulates the mind and then she works tirelessly to find the answers.

Rory Devin has been a pleasure to have in his social studies classes as he is engaged, intellectually thoughtful and motivated to succeed.  His diligence, work ethic, exemplary writing skills and insightful classroom contributions inspire others.  Not only is he an excellent student but a positive member of the classroom community.

~Don’t forget Spanish Honor Society’s canned food drive this week. Donate nonperishable items, such as oatmeal, peanut butter, and canned fruits, to your third period class! The class with the most cans wins a party. Let’s give back to the Jeffco community and help those in need this season!

The female Student Athlete of the month for November is Leah Sommer.

2018 marks the 4th year Leah has been committed to our volleyball program, playing 2 on JV and 2 years on Varsity.  Leah was voted one of our 3 senior captains unanimously by our varsity team.  She is hard working, positive and extremely caring all not only for herself, but of all of her teammates as well.  Leah ed the Jeffco 4A Volleyball League in total assists throughout the entire season, finishing the season with almost 200 more assists than the #2 assist earner.  She also ended the season in the top 10 in our league for service aces (tied for 6th) and total blocks (9th).  As a senior, Leah continues to push for excellence academically taking a full load of classes and taking pride in her overall performance.  Leah is also an assistant coach for one of our Gold Crown youth teams committing additional hours of her personal time each week to teaching young players the skills and culture of D'Evelyn Volleyball.  Leah's teammates respect her and work harder because she works harder and the young players she coached have all seen huge improvements and have expressed how much they have enjoyed playing on her team!  She has also earned 1st Team All-Conference for the 2018 season!

Congratulations Leah

Leah was nominated by Coach Amber Cook

The male Student Athlete of the Month for November is Alan Li.

Alan has been involved in our program for the last four years, three at the varsity level. Each year Alan has become not only a stronger and more technically sound player, but also a leader to which the rest of the program can look up to.  With a large number of last years’ starters gone due to graduation, we asked Alan to take on a larger role with the team this year and captain a very young and inexperienced starting lineup. Alan was able to seamlessly blend every style of play and formation we ran this year with ease and was the critical link between the new players and the returning squad. Opposing coaches also have developed a great respect for Alan and have awarded his efforts over the past year with a first team JEFFCO position as well as an upcoming position on the 4A All State team. Alan truly is a player every coach would love to have be a part of their program.  Away from the field, Alan is an incredible student and can often be seen volunteering his time to worthy causes. Alan always seems to put others before himself. Alan will be missed after graduation but he leaves a team, and program, in a much better place because of the type of player, leader and person that he is. Thanks Alan for all of your efforts in our program, school and community

Congratulations Alan!

Alan was nominated by Coach Moline
