Tutor Expectations

There are great opportunities for D'Evelyn Junior/Senior High School students to participate in the Peer Tutoring program as Peer Tutors.  The program seeks tutors in the following subjects & skill areas:

  • English
  • Writing
  • History
  • Geography
  • Life Science & Physical Science
  • Biology & Chemistry
  • All levels of Math
  • All levels of Spanish

Students that aspire to serve as Peer Tutors should meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate strong academic skills and performance in the subject area(s) they wish to tutor
  • Maintain the desire to work with and support students in one or more subject areas
  • Commit to attending tutoring sessions one day per week

Students interested in serving as Peer Tutors must attend one 7th Hour Peer Tutor training. The training sessions occur in the D'Evelyn Library Commons, and students seeking training should sign up in the Library for the day of the desired training. TBD.

  • Continued development & enhancement of your own academic skills
  • Opportunities to support other students succeed in the D'Evelyn Program
  • Community Service Hours will be tracked for you on a semester-length basis
